Gise presents Cafe Del Mundo
NOTE: This is a seated show
Few instruments bridge cultures as profoundly as the flamenco guitar. Originating in India, flamenco shares elements with Kathak and traveled through trade routes, merging with the oud’s storytelling power. In Córdoba’s Caliphate, arts flourished as philosophy, religion, and science sought unity.
Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian of Café del Mundo embrace this heritage. Performances in Marrakech and Andalusia, and encounters with Bedouins and the vibrant market of Djemaa el Fna, infuse their music with rich cultural impressions. Their Franconian guitars bring to life the openness of world sounds, offering audiences the joy of discovering the unfamiliar within the familiar.
